As per a meeting between BATCE VP Mrs. Ayana James, TSU Alumni and Digital Marketer for Texas Southern University, Mr. Jesús Lewis, and Indigo Business Consulting Director Sidelle Castagne and myself John Castagne CEO of Indigo Business Consulting, the purpose of this letter is to detail the discussion and proposal of Indigo Business Consulting mediating a Pipeline Project between BATCE and Texas Southern University. This project aims to create opportunities for BATCE students exhibiting exceptional ability in academia and Sports to access Scholarships to Texas Southern University in the form of Sports and Academics. Areas of interest being male and female: Soccer, Track and Field, Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball and create introductory programs in sports such as American Football, Marching Band, Softball and Baseball.
This project will foster relationships between TSU and local Trinbagonian Schools, incorporating TSU methods of developing youth and preparing them for direct opportunities that will support students' self actualization by assisting their personal development along their career paths. This project would be a "Pilot Project" in Trinidad and Tobago, with a goal to expand Regionally in creating opportunities for Caribbean Youth. Being a "Pilot Project" for the interest of All Parties involved we would require and expect a High degree of confidentiality, especially during the project development stages. We believe by establishing relationships and re-organising Student Activities to provide structure in helping develop the talent, skill of both physical and intellectual ability based on the advice of Industry Experts. The Activities are meant to be run mainly by the students and overseen by a Staff chaperone for each activity club, in order to encourage students to take responsibility over their development and progress.
About TSU - http://www.tsu.edu
Texas Southern University is an HBC - 'Historically Black College' meaning that in the days of segregation these Colleges were created to enable Blacks and opportunity for University Education. Being an HBC they have a purpose to propel 'Black Culture' and have many opportunities for Caribbean Youth and Schools to trade off Caribbean Culture and Talent for Opportunity and Exposure in a Top HBC located in the 4th Largest City in the USA. BATCE would be mavericks in creating a sustainable system for advancing youth, without incurring costs, but, working within the relationship capacity of TSU and Indigo Business Consulting to execute "Activity Clubs" that prepare BATCE Youth for Career and Scholarship Opportunity. This initiative is proposed and geared towards "Adding Value" by connecting our Consulting Networks to members of BATCE aligned to each specific Activity Club, bringing expert advice and establishing an open line of communication between BATCE Staff and Students associated with the Created - Activity Clubs.
'ACTIVITY CLUBS' - Description and Method
Adding Value is our main purpose with 'Simplicity and Sustainability' as the watch words for doing so. The method in which we would incorporate to structure the clubs would be a very simple approach. The basic set up would have each club headed by BATCE Staff that are willing to Voluntarily Oversee the club activities, however, the club itself being run as a student organisation with a student Club President and Committee who would have designated responsibilities. Bureaucracies of running clubs should be avoided and processes simplified to an activity clubs that enable information gathering on members and specialized skills, techniques and skills to be disseminated and practiced amongst club members.
Each Club will be provided free consultation and advisory support from Indigo Business Consulting and procured Industry Experts that would be willing to visit and consult each club. Depending on the activity, an Industry Expert availability, an expert would be identified as a Chief Partner Consultant to advise and provide insight on Advanced Techniques, Training Methods etc. that can be passed on and developed into 'Club Culture'. Clubs will be able to adopt International Cultures, Standards and Understanding how best members can prepare themselves for and access opportunities for higher learning or even career development.
